The initial focus of EMAPi on Europe and North America quickly extended to other parts of the World which later led to EMAPi becoming truly global in its reach. Speciality of EMAPi is that it covers all aspects of plant invasion from pure science to management of plant invasions. Following this tradition, the title of this conference is 'Bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and management practice'. We hope that oral and poster sessions, as well as the social events and excursions make good possibilities for personal contacts and information exchange between nature conservationists, land use managers and researchers.

Scientific topics cover almost every aspects of plant invasion, thus everyone will be able to find something relevant during the scientific part. We hope that ' as it happened in the previous EMAPi meetings ' this frame will be filled by your high quality oral and poster presentations.

An interesting and colourful range of social events will enhance the opportunities for delegates to network with associates as well as to enjoy the Hungarian cultural heritage. Fascinating mid- and post-conference tours will also be arranged to highlight the most interesting invaded and seminatural types of the rich Hungarian vegetation.
