t is an honor to welcome you to another Edition of the Unesp Production Engineering Symposium - SIMPEP. This year, the XVIII SIMPEP will have "Sustainability in Supply Chains" as a theme of discussion. This topic has been gaining importance in Brazil and the world with the intent of verifying Production Engineering's role in promoting more sustainable supply chains, their correlated practices, motivations and barriers present in the journey of organizations and production systems in the search for a more sustainable society. With a focus on sustainability's environmental dimension, SIMPEP's objective is to present the state-of-the art in "Sustainability in Supply Chains" to its public, along with its challenges and opportunities for Brazil and the world of Production Engineering.
