The economic growth of states throughout Asia, South America and Africa is changing the dynamics of international negotiations, policy and commitments. It is not yet certain what other changes will take place as result of this growth and shift in global power.
How will international law be influenced by these developments, will these changes lead to stronger or weaker enforcement of international standards, and how will domestic legal systems adapt to these changing international conditions? This colloquium will explore the influence of this fundamental shift in global power, upon the development and enforcement of international standards, and consider the effects of globalisation on the development of legal norms. The colloquium welcomes papers addressing the colloquium theme including comparative approaches in the following areas:
