Oliver Dulic, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Serbia, and Nils Ragnar Kamsvag, Ambassador of Norway to Serbia, welcomed close to 200 distinguished guests attending the conference.
The Kingdom of Norway recognises the importance of setting up an Environmental Management Center and has provided the necessary funds for this project in order to support the reform process aimed at strengthening cooperation between Serbia and the European Union as Serbia prepares for EU accession.
Present at the conference were representatives of the largest Serbian industrial enterprises, representatives of environmental authorities at all levels and educational institutions in the field of environmental science, as well as interested members of the public. The key functional element of EMC, Emisoft's 'TEAMS' System for record keeping and environmental reporting, was presented at the conference.
"The Ministry is actively involved in this project and supports the activities of the Serbian Environmental Protection Agency, which is an important user of the Centre, as well as all other business partners in the project - in particular the IPPC enterprises and the Regional Environmental Center," Dulic said.
