Conservation experts set to work at Transylvanian Natura 2000 sites

Over 50 conservation experts will be at work on 260,000 ha of Natura 2000 sites in the heart of Transylvania this summer, conducting a census of birds, plants and animals in order to compile an inventory, essential for the management plan of the Podisul Hartibaciului-Tarnava Mare-Olt area of Romania. The management plan is due to be finalized in 2015 and is part of a project funded by the Environment Operational Programme of the European Commission. Implemented by WWF, the project will ensure the conservation of species and habitats of community and national importance in the heart of Romania.
